This June is your last chance to attend the Labor Market Information Training entitled, “Mapping Alabama’s Future.” There will be two sessions with a maximum of 50 participants in each session. This training is an excellent tool to help you entice new employers into this area. It will also provide resources you can use to collect data on industry and occupational employment across the state and information on the workforce in the area.
Nearly 200 people attended the lmi training in 2005. Some comments from economic developers and chambers of commerce were:
“I generally find all your trainings useful. I have used some of the information you have provided, and hope to create a study template that I can use to benefit our local governments. It is definitely worth my time to attend these trainings, - and I usually don’t enjoy going to trainings and conferences. I would recommend it to others in the ED field, and wish I had more opportunity to use all that I have learned – and forgotten! Lol”

“I have used the information and the sources that I learned at the seminar in preparing RFI’s & RFP’s on several occasions.”
Elmer Wheatley, Jr.
Deputy Director
Calhoun County EDC
“I thought it was well organized and presented. It certainly enhanced my knowledge of data sources what is available to address specific information needs. I use the materials from the course regularly, and leave the companion cd in my computer at all times.”
Steve Turkoski
Director of Workforce Development
Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce
“I especially enjoyed the LMI Training. When I attended the training, I had just started working here. Since the training, I have had no trouble finding information on the internet. The web links that you taught have been very valuable. After learning how to adequately access the information, it was very helpful.”
